Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-04-24
1. Eligibility and Accounts
Age & Authority. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree to provide accurate information and to safeguard your login credentials.
Access & Compatibility. Roam Together is a web-based application. You are responsible for maintaining the internet access, device, and compatible browser software needed to use the Service.
Geographic Availability. The Service is controlled and operated from the United States. While it is available to users worldwide, it is designed primarily with U.S. users in mind. Users outside the United States are responsible for compliance with their local laws when using the Service.
Account Activity. You are responsible for all activity under your account. If you invite another user to view or edit a trip (a “Co-Planner”), you are responsible for their actions within the Service.
2. AI-Powered Planning & Recommendations
Interactive AI Disclosure. You acknowledge that Roam Together is a generative AI-powered service. You are interacting with an automated system, not a human travel agent.
Informational Only. Content generated by Roam Together is a tool for brainstorming and planning. Suggestions may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.
Verification Required. You are responsible for independently verifying all travel details, including pricing, reservations, flight times, venue opening hours, passport/visa requirements, and safety guidance.
No Agentic Authority. Roam Together does not have the authority to enter into contracts or make financial commitments on your behalf. Any bookings you make based on AI suggestions are independent transactions between you and the third-party provider.
Third-Party Links. The Service may contain links to third-party websites or services, including affiliate partners. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of such third-party sites. Your use of any linked site is at your own risk.
3. User Content & Backups
Ownership. You retain ownership of any photos, PDFs, notes, or other material you upload (“User Content”).
Backups. The Service is not a dedicated document storage vault. Always maintain independent copies of critical travel documents. Roam Together is not liable for any loss of User Content.
4. Acceptable Use
To keep the Service safe for all families, you agree not to:
- Generate or share illegal, harmful, or abusive content.
- Attempt to manipulate AI features to produce harmful, discriminatory, or misleading travel advice.
- Use the AI chat for purposes unrelated to travel planning.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract data from our AI models.
- Upload content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
- Interfere with the Service's operation or impersonate others.
5. Affiliate Attribution
Roam Together may include affiliate links to third-party travel providers (such as flight, hotel, activity, eSIM, and insurance partners via the Travelpayouts network). When you click an affiliate link and complete a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence our AI's recommendations. Our recommendation engine ranks options based on fit for your family — not commission rates. See our how-we-make-money disclosure for full details.
6. Paid Features & Billing
Paid Features. We may offer paid features. If and when we do, billing is handled through third-party processors (such as Stripe). We do not store full payment card details. Extra Ask Roam usage, if offered, is prepaid or explicitly authorized before use so you are not surprised by postpaid AI overage charges.
Cancellation. You may cancel any paid feature at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access to paid features until that date.
Refunds. Subscription or usage fees are generally non-refundable except as required by applicable law. For users in the EU/EEA, you may exercise your right of withdrawal within 14 days of your initial purchase. To request a refund, contact us at support@roamtogether.com.
Modifications. We may modify paid features, pricing, or usage limits from time to time to maintain service quality.
7. Termination and Suspension
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we believe you have violated these Terms. While we aim to provide notice, we may do so immediately if your conduct poses a security or legal risk.
8. Intellectual Property & AI Training
We own the Roam Together app, code, and branding.
Training Policy. We do not use your private family itineraries to train “foundation” AI models. Our third-party AI provider (Anthropic, for the Claude model) processes your data under API and enterprise terms that prohibit using API inputs for model training. We may use anonymized usage patterns — such as aggregate query types, destination popularity, and feature engagement, not individual conversations — solely to improve our internal algorithms and prompts. See Section 9 of our Privacy Policy for opt-out details.
Learned Preferences. Roam Together maintains a per-user memory of travel preferences (for example, “prefers restaurants with kids menus”) that is injected into future AI turns to personalize your planning. This memory is owned by you, editable and deletable from your Settings → Memory page, and never shared with third parties except the AI provider as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
11. Dispute Resolution (Mandatory Arbitration)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be settled by binding arbitration in Fulton County, Georgia, rather than in court. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration. Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdiction.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
